Rider Terms

Last updated: September 10, 2026

These Rider Terms apply whenever a rider, account holder, parent or guardian, authorized organization, or other person requests, schedules, funds, manages, or takes a trip through PullUp Rideshare. These Rider Terms supplement the PullUp Terms of Service and other applicable policies.

1. Rider and Account Holder Responsibilities

Riders and account holders must provide accurate pickup, destination, contact, payment, passenger, accessibility, and trip information. You must not knowingly request transportation for a purpose that is unlawful, unsafe, deceptive, or prohibited by PullUp policy.

If you request a ride for another person, you represent that you are authorized to do so and that the rider has been informed of any material trip conditions and applicable PullUp rules.

2. Pickup, Verification, and Trip Conduct

Riders must be reasonably ready at the agreed pickup location, use any required PIN or identity-verification feature accurately, confirm the correct vehicle and driver before entering, and follow lawful safety instructions. Riders must wear seat belts when required by law and must not interfere with a driver’s safe operation of a vehicle.

Harassment, threats, violence, sexual misconduct, discrimination, fraud, vandalism, intentional damage, unsafe conduct, or abusive treatment of drivers, other riders, staff, or partners is prohibited.

3. Children, Dependents, and Guardians

Transportation involving minors or dependent persons is subject to the Minor & Guardian Transportation Policy and any applicable program-specific requirements. An ordinary rider account does not automatically authorize unaccompanied minor transportation. Where a child restraint is legally required, the responsible adult must ensure that lawful restraint requirements are satisfied unless PullUp expressly provides otherwise in a written program description.

4. Accessibility and Service Animals

Riders with disabilities are entitled to lawful, respectful service. Accessibility requests and service animals are governed by the Accessibility & Service Animal Policy and applicable law. A rider must not be charged a fee solely because of a lawful service animal or disability-related request unless a charge is expressly permitted by law for a separate service.

5. Personal Property

Riders are responsible for their personal belongings. PullUp and drivers are not insurers of property left in a vehicle. PullUp may attempt to facilitate return of lost property but does not guarantee recovery, timing, condition, or return. Reasonable return or delivery fees may apply if disclosed and permitted by law.

6. Cleaning, Damage, and Extraordinary Costs

A rider or responsible account holder may be charged for documented extraordinary cleaning, repair, tolls, waiting time, or other costs caused by the rider or members of the rider’s party, to the extent permitted by law and platform rules. Ordinary wear and tear is not chargeable damage.

7. Fares, Cancellations, and Refunds

Riders are responsible for valid trip charges shown or otherwise properly disclosed. Fare estimates may change when trip details change. Cancellations, no-shows, refunds, promotional credits, disputed charges, and fare adjustments are governed by the Cancellation & Refund Policy and any service-specific terms.

8. Delays and Service Availability

Pickup times, arrival estimates, routes, and driver availability are estimates rather than guarantees. Traffic, weather, road closures, driver availability, emergencies, technical outages, partner requirements, rider readiness, and other conditions may affect service. PullUp is not responsible for missed appointments, flights, work shifts, events, deadlines, or other consequential losses caused by ordinary delays except where liability cannot lawfully be disclaimed.

9. Safety Limitations

Technology, trip tracking, driver screening, ratings, preferred-driver tools, PIN verification, and safety features can reduce risk but cannot eliminate it. Riders remain responsible for exercising reasonable judgment about pickup locations, entering the correct vehicle, seat-belt use, personal conduct, and emergency situations. In an immediate emergency, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency service.

10. Protected Parties and No Personal Liability

For these Rider Terms, “Protected Parties” means Onyx Repository Foundation, PullUp Rideshare, and their current and former directors, officers, founders, employees, volunteers, contractors, agents, representatives, successors, and assigns, including Rodney Addison and Amanda Dixon when acting in connection with PullUp, Onyx Repository Foundation, or an authorized PullUp program.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, no Protected Party incurs personal liability merely because that person helped design, manage, administer, communicate, investigate, dispatch, support, or enforce a PullUp service or policy. Any obligation arising from a rider’s use of PullUp is an obligation of the applicable contracting entity or service provider, not a personal obligation of an individual representative merely because the representative acted on behalf of the organization.

This section does not limit liability that applicable law does not permit to be limited, including liability for a person’s own fraud, willful misconduct, or other non-waivable conduct.

11. Release and Allocation of Risk

To the fullest extent permitted by law, riders acknowledge and accept the ordinary risks inherent in road transportation and interactions with independent third parties. Riders release PullUp and the Protected Parties from claims based solely on risks inherent in ordinary transportation or on conduct of independent third parties that PullUp did not cause and is not legally responsible for. This release does not waive any non-waivable right or claim.

12. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, a rider or account holder agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PullUp and the Protected Parties from third-party claims arising from that person’s fraud, material policy violation, unlawful conduct, intentional damage, unauthorized trip request, misuse of another person’s account or payment method, or violation of another person’s rights. This does not require indemnification for liability that applicable law places solely on a Protected Party and does not permit to be shifted.

13. Enforcement

PullUp may warn, restrict, suspend, or deactivate rider access for safety concerns, fraud, repeated cancellations or nonpayment, abusive conduct, discrimination, misuse, or other material policy violations. PullUp may share information with law enforcement, insurers, payment processors, partner organizations, or regulators when reasonably necessary and lawful.

14. Relationship to Other Terms

These Rider Terms are incorporated into the PullUp Terms of Service. If a signed enterprise, healthcare, school, community, or other program agreement contains specific rider terms, that agreement controls to the extent of a direct conflict. All limitations remain subject to rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
